Children of Abraham II

Today as I watched Secretary of State Hilary Clinton at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas I was thinking that one of them should mention, in the spirit of peace, that the Jewish people and the Arab people are respectively, the children of Isaac and the children of Ishmael:  all children of their father, Abraham.  Lo and behold, will wonders never cease, Benjamin Netanyahu said precisely that.  He told the story of how Ishmael and Isaac came together as brothers to bury their father Abraham when he died.

I will reiterate what I said in my blog of September 6, 2009 entitled “Children of Abraham,”

Leviticus 19:33

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.”

Leviticus 19:34

“You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

Since the Bible tells us that the Arab people are our cousins, we should treat them as family.
